This assignment was a build up from lab 8. This wasn’t to difficult to do and quite straight forward.

The easist part of the lab was to create these blogs. The hardest part was to troubleshoot the rds. I had stopped my rds after completing lab 8. And my beanstalk turned red after I configured the load balancer. I did not start my rds db and had to spend quite of bit of time before pinpointing the issue.

One thing I would want to change about the course is possibly adding more practical labs based scenario questions in the midterms and final exams. Because we spent quite of bit of time doing these labs and assignments. However, much of the questions focus on knowledge based theory rather than actual lab enviroment.

Load balancing is a way to distribute networking traffic between 2 or more servers. This helps to prevent from overloading one server.

Horizontal scaling or scaling out is adding more servers or instances to handle increased demand.

Vertical scaling or scaling up is adding more CPU, RAM, or storage etc.

Auto scaling in AWS automatically adjusts the number of EC2 instances based on demand. When traffic increases, more instances are added. When traffic decreases, instances are removed. This helps keep the cost low.

This lab was more time consuming and challenging in the course so far. What I found the hardest about this lab was the scripting/coding. I had to create beanstalk 3 times in order to get it right. And the issue was caused by a “ ‘ “. Nonetheless, I was able to pinpoint the issue and rectify it. The easiest part was setting up WordPress account.
